What Is Commercial General Liability Insurance?
Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance an insuring agreement protects entrepreneurs and owners of business against physical injury, physical asset damage, and personal and advertising injury (defaming and false advertising).
Premises/operations coverage pays for physical injury or physical property damage that occurs within your premises or as a result of your business operations.
Products/completed operations coverage pays for physical injury and property damage that occurs outside the premises caused by the products or completed work of the business operations.
Excess liability insurance pays for covered losses that exceed your CGL policy’s dollar limit.
There is another insurance coverage which covers above the automobile liability and Commercial general liability insurance, known as umbrella liability insurance. This umbrella liability insurance covers liabilities which are not covered under Commercial General Liability.
